Objectives

Innovaugas 4.0 is a project to advance towards truly integrated management of water resources in Galicia, addressing the protection and balance of ecosystems and natural resources in parallel with equitable economic and social welfare.

The water management model has important environmental, economic and social implications for the territory in which it is developed, especially taking into account the expected effects of climate change on hydrometeorological patterns. Therefore, the general objectives of INNOVAUGAS 4.0 have been established based on specific needs detected in Galicia, and related to the project’s ultimate goal:

• Improvement and innovation in the management of water resources and the environment
• Increasing resilience to climate change
• Incorporation of the circular economy model into the management of the Integral Water Cycle

The specific objectives summarise the perspective from which this project will address the general objectives set out, and allow individual results to be defined for each of them, which will help in the design and monitoring of the project’s activities. A cross-cutting objective has also been established for the validation of the solutions designed, which is foreseen to be applied to the case of Operation System No. 1 of the Galicia-Costa River Basin.
